Dedicated to bringing unrivalled quality and service to Manchester’s discerning bar crowd, Walrus Canteen and Bar offers a unique fusion of cocktail bar, relaxed lounge and modern Asian eatery.

An exciting addition to the bohemian Northern Quarter of Manchester, the loud and proud interior design concept offers a modern take on 60’s psychedellia, mixing patterns, prints and colours in an eclectic style.

The “canteen lounge” environment at Walrus entices people to try some of the most innovative and delicious oriental food around. The menu, created by ex-Nobu chef Paul Day, is specifically Japanese with Thai infusions and encourages sociable dining by serving a variety of small plates, larger Donburi rice bowls, and bento boxes - perfect for sampling a little bit of everything. Signature dishes include Three Times Cooked Black Pepper Ribs, Oyakodon (chicken and egg) Donburi, and a Three Day Cooked Beef Mussaman Curry.

Passionately run by Walrus’ experienced bartenders, the bar offers a colourful, laid-back setting where you can relax and enjoy a selection of exciting, quirky cocktails, prepared with fresh fruit, natural flavours and premium alcohol. If you prefer to drink beer, Walrus also champions niche brands such as Thai Chang, and Japanese Asahi.

Open from 12:00 to 22:30 Sunday to Thursday (last orders 21:30), and 12:00 to 20:00 on Friday and Saturday (last orders 19:30).

Bar:
Open from 12:00 to 24:00, Sunday to Wednesday.
Open from 12:00 to 01:00 on Thursday.
Open from 12:00 to 02:00 on Friday and Saturday.
